Elizabeth began at Betz & Associates as a law clerk in May 2004 following her second year of law school. She quickly realized her passion for employment law and continued working at the firm during the school year while taking additional courses in employment law and related practice areas.
Elizabeth pursued undergraduate degrees in English and French. A foreign language enthusiast, she also studied Italian and received a minor in Spanish. Anxious to move on to law school, she graduated with highest distinction from Indiana University one year early, in 2002.
While in law school, Elizabeth studied a variety of subjects, but focused primarily on courses related to litigation and employment discrimination. Elizabeth was a member of the Feminist Law Society and served as President of Women's Caucus while in law school. During her second year of law school, Elizabeth participated in the Moot Court Competition, and proceeded to the final round where she and her teammate received second place. Elizabeth was a member of the Indiana Law Review, writing a Note on a medical malpractice topic during her second year of law school, and serving as an Associate Editor during her third year of law school. In May 2005, Elizabeth graduated with honors in the top 11% of her law school class.
Prior to joining Betz & Associates, Elizabeth served as a law clerk with Katz & Korin, P.C., in Indianapolis, and worked for approximately two years as the law clerk for the Indiana State Medical Association.
Elizabeth is a member of the Indiana Employment Lawyers Association (NELA Indiana – www.nelaindiana.com) and is admitted to practice law in all Indiana state courts, including the Indiana Supreme Court, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana.
