Benjamin joined Betz & Associates as an associate immediately following his graduation from law school in 2009. He has demonstrated a strong commitment to protecting and expanding workers’ rights, and ensuring workplace justice. He is excited to return to his hometown to begin his legal career.
As a law student, Benjamin spent his summers serving as an administrative law judge with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, and as a Peggy Browning Fund Summer Fellow with the International Union, UAW, in Detroit. He also had the privilege of spending the Spring 2009 semester as an intern with Magistrate Judge Tim A. Baker in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
While in law school, Benjamin participated in a number of extracurricular activities. He served as a Managing Editor of the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies from 2007 to 2009 (volumes 15 and 16). He also distinguished himself as an advocate. He received brief writing honors in the 2007-2008 Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition, where he was an octofinalist; and he was selected as a member of the 2008-2009 Sherman Minton Moot Court Board and External Team. He participated in the 2008-2009 Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition, and was a quarterfinalist in the Federal Bar Association’s 2009 Thurgood Marshall Memorial Moot Court Competition.
